Announcing, the Battle of Bosworth Demo Game at Salute 2013

OK, a day late.... a recent medical appointment left me with no time even to do a short write up covering the Anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, which was of course fought on August 22nd 1485 (not the 23rd!).

Bosworth marked a turning point in English history in many ways, the last great cavalry charge on English soil, the death of the last Plantagenet King, the beginnings of the Tudor dynasty not to mention the political ramifications that rippled around Europe, most notably in the Burgundian and French kings court.

So, it would seem that it's the perfect time (OK, maybe yesterday would have been better!) to announce that the Lance and Longbow Society will be putting on a Bosworth re-fight at Salute based on the latest information about the archaeological evidence. I know that this book, among others, Bosworth 1485, A Battlefield Rediscovered, Glenn Ford, Anne Curry will play it's part in the overall design of the game and also effect some of the troop types. I will say no more.

You can see how the armies unfold on my Gewalthaufen BlogHERE!

I'll be reviewing a few of the books written about Bosworth as we go along and of course you will be able to see all three of the armies develop in 28mm as I go along.

Here's to history!

For Sale: Frankish Franks/Early Saxons

This unit was once destined to be a part of an Early Germanic army from the WAB supplement Beyond the Golden Gate- alas, the army was never completed, just this unit in fact- thus the unit is now up for sale.

There are a total of 25 miniatures which includes the casualty figure at the front left of the unit which I'm going to count as 2 miniatures.

I'm asking £6 per miniature so that would be a total of £150. for the whole unit.

I'm happy to post to most parts of the world but I would ask the buyer to pay for the insurance That way you will not lose out if anything goes wrong.

Buyer pays postage.

Please PM me if you're interested or you can contact me at:

Thanks for taking a peek,

Agincourt 600th Anniversary Events! 2015

As many of you will already be aware of it will be the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt in 2015. There are a few events running that year:

Saturday 25th July 2015: "The Big Shoot"-

For anyone interested in Medieval warfare this is a must see event. The idea is basically to get 1000 archers wearing the correct early 15thC kit etc to loose of a series of volleys- something not seen by any margin since the end of the Hundred Years War.

Details here:

Sunday 26th July 2015: “Bataille  d’Azincourt”

The following day there will be a re-enactment of that fateful day:

Tuesday 7th - Saturday 24th October 2015: “The March”

Finally there will be a March simulating Henry's desperate plight as he and his army attempted to march on to the safety of Calais.

Something for all the family(?) :O)

No Longer For Sale! Henry V, Earl of Oxford, Lord Camoys at Agincourt Vignettes

In order to raise some pocket money for Salute this year I've decided to sell the three vignettes I have painted up for the Battle of Agincourt.

They are all painted up to the highest standard and I think that you will agree (hopefully!  :) ) that they are worth the money that I'm asking.

OK, onto business. I'm asking for £250 for the all three.

Buyer pays postage. Paypal is acceptable as long as the buyer is willing to pay the Paypal fees (currently 3.4%) for both the miniatures and the postage.

I am based min the UK but am happy to take on international customers as long as they are willing to have the items in the package insured. I can get you a quote for this.

I'd really rather not separate them but do wish them to go to a very good home. As an example of the research and time and effort that went into painting this series of vignettes, all the heraldry is painted in proportion to the miniatures and is correct. The liveries of their maintained men is also correct as are the banners. In other words everything is spot on for the characters and other mini's displayed in the vignettes.

Without further ado, here are some nice and detailed pics of the said vignettes:
